The latest version of CentOS, CentOS 5.6 has just been released.
To upgrade to CentOS 5.6, log in to your server and initiate a yum update:
Please note: You might want to disable any 3rd-party repositories, such as DAG’s repository, before running the update. Also ensure that you know what you are updating so that you don’t cause any issues to other packages, software or services installed.
Run the following command to ensure that you are now updated to CentOS 5.6:
$ cat /etc/redhat-release
CentOS release 5.6 (Final)
